Happy Birthday Simeon!

Simeon turned 5 today! We opened gifts and the kids did a pinata before Abe left for work this morning. We're having pizza and ice cream tonight. He didn't want a cake. I'm okay with that--way easier for me. Here he is with his new Power Ranger costume, gun, and bouncer ball. He also got a Webkinz from his Grandma on Sunday. I think we need to get a kid computer now. Everyone has too many things they want to do on our one. Simmy is my dimpled sweetie and its so fun to watch him grow.

More Naked!

So this is what we do for fun at our house. Now don't even try to tell me you all don't play fight with your Grandpa in the buff on a regular basis.

Naked!

We finally have a bathtub! Granted, the rest of the bathroom is still unfinished drywall with a cement floor without a sink or toilet but progress is progress. Everyone wanted to try it out so here is my tub o' boys.

Vacation is Over

So our vacation in our new ward is finally over. They knew we were crazy busy finishing the house and having a new baby so they left us alone for awhile. With the new year comes new callings so today I was set apart as the ward music chairperson and Abe as the assistant ward clerk. I guess I have no excuse anymore for putting off joining the ward choir. My calling should actually not be that big of a deal but I guess those 15 minutes of seeing Abe each week are gone now. Oh well. With service comes blessings and we're desperately in need of blessings. We're actually glad to be of some use. Happy Sabbath!

Fortune's Fool

So, could these fortunes come true, like yesterday? One was mine and one was Abe's from New Year's and they cheered us up for the evening. With house values dropping we're having a heck of a time finishing the house--we can't finish the house without some more money to pay for the rest of the materials, we can't get any more construction loan money because of worry about house values being less than they were a year ago when we opened our construction loan, but our year is just about up for our construction loan which now has to be converted to a regular mortgage, but we can't convert it to a regular mortgage until the construction is finished. See our dilemma? We are just working as hard as we can with what we've got and hoping that it will all work out. It always does someway or another but we're really curious to find out just how in this case.

The Cubby

We have a quirky and unique house, which is what we like about it. And since we are finishing it ourselves we have been able to put in some fun built in features. This cubby is a kid favorite. We haven't finished the interior of it yet but that hasn't kept the kids from playing in it non-stop. Most nights, since Abe put the door on, one or two of the kids will sleep in it. During the day its a great place to hide with a flashlight and a book or to use to play house or fort.

Kids are funny

We have an animated New Testament DVD of the Easter story called "He is Risen". Asher really likes watching it. I asked him the other day what movie he wanted to watch and he said, "The one where the bad guys put Jesus on a log." :-)
